Every bed we make in a size 41 inches long or longer, opened on its large size.
A large dog needs length first. A dog that measures 36 inches from nose to the base of the tail will not fit a 36 inch bed once it stretches out, and on a sofa bed the bolsters eat a few more inches of that length. That is why this page starts at 41 inches and runs up to our 52 inch beds and the 72 inch human-size bed.
Height matters too for a heavy dog: on a thin pad a big dog presses through to the floor. Our large sofa beds run 6.5 to 8 inches tall, the flat mattresses 3.5 to 4 inches. For a crate, measure the crate floor before the dog: a 42 inch crate takes a 41 inch bed.
