A crate bed has one job a floor bed does not: it has to fit a box. Measure the floor of the crate inside the bars, not the outside of the crate and not the dog, and pick the size just under it, so the bed lies flat without curling up the sides.
Then pick by how warm and how deep. The foam mattresses give 3 to 4 inches of support for a dog that spends nights in the crate, the plush and faux fur pads are softer and warmer and go in the washer whole, and the waffle mat is an inch thick for summer and for the car.
